Good luck to all who venture into Penn's Woods tomorrow in quest of the elusive whitetail.

Same to you, tk. This will be the first time in 43 years that I will not be waiting with a bow in my hand for day to break on opening day of PA's archery season. Doctor said no attempt to draw my bow for another week after a thyroidectomy. My wife will be archery hunting for the first time in her life and I haven't looked forward to the season with as much enthusiasm since my sons started. She has been shooting everyday since her bow arrived.
Good luck and, if you're perched above the ground, ALWAYS strap in.

Yes I am. My wife is ten years younger but it's still a late start for her getting into archery. She can hardly wait.

My wife and I took a walk up to the ladder stand when she got home to pin some bright eyes along the path she'll have to follow in the dark tomorrow. She is like our sons were on the nights before Christmas. I'll be waiting by the phone in the morning. I am happy she decide to do this.

My wife texted a little after 8:00. She's had 8 doe/fawns feed past her stand but none closer than about 35 yards, Then @ 7:55 a buck fed in her direction and was under fifteen yards for more than a minute-it was just a fork horn. She would have gladly shot it for her first archery buck. She said she started to shake a little from the first glimpse of the deer 'till after the buck walked away. I expected her to have walked back home by now but she said squirrels and chipmunks are keeping her entertained.

It wasn't a bad day in the stand. Ended up seeing two bucks and 3 does. Passed a small 8 point this evening at 22 yards. Also passed a doe that gave me a shot. She was either a very small dry doe, or a very large fawn. I wasn't sure so I let her walk at 15 yards.

My wife saw the same 4 pt tonight that she saw this am. It came in and rubbed a small hemlock. Later she saw a few does/fawns then a small 8pt just at dark. she had to wait 'till past legal shooting time to climb down to be sure the buck was gone. It was a great day for her to be initiated as an archery hunter! I think she is hooked. I'm lovin' it!

It was a great day to hunt. Had a small doe and 2 button bucks at 10 yards in the morning, in the evening a had 2 doe under me. Was going to take bigger of the 2 at 8yds but she wouldn't give me a good angle. She eventually fed her way downwind of me and snorted. Put up 9 on way out. It was fun.

I saw a buck at 7:30 chasin a doe. I grunted him in. Came right in, was a decent 6 pt. I passed for the first time, because my son was campin for his birthday weekend and I didn't have any help. He was a little over an hour away and before he left he said he would come to help if I called. Didn't want to spoil his birthday celebration. Over the next 3 hrs , I grunted the same buck in 2 more times and passed on those also. Rem 700 said he would help, but I decided to wait. Who knows what will happen if I see him again.

Good luck Bushmaster. My wife just walked up to her stand about 20 minutes ago. Wish I could be out there this evening.
