Looking at buying one for my daughter. I'm pretty dumb with crossbows. Not sure what is the best set up for young kids.

How old Stroupy? Are you looking for a crossbow that she can shoot independently, meaning cocking it and all, or do you plan on doing the grunt work? Price point?
I would look at Centerpoint Archery or Killer Instinct crossbows before Barnett if you are not looking to spend a ton of money. Both offer adjustable stock models if length of pull is an issue.

Take her to a good shop where she can try different models.

I will have to do the work. Plan on getting her a rest also. She will be 10. Figured a crossbow would be good to teach her on because of recoil.

My brother let me shoot his killer instinct. Good bow for the value. I will be going with that. I think they come with a lifetime warranty.

They are imported and mass produced over seas, but for the money, they seem to be fairly robust and have good customer service. I always recommend them and Centerpoint over Barnett when folks are looking for a budget bow.

Makes a little noise when shooting but as fast as they are does it really matter?

Makes a little noise when shooting but as fast as they are does it really matter? It can. I have had several does duck my arrows from crossbows. One at 20 yards was completely unaware of my presence but somehow got under my arrow going 360fps. I wouldn't have believed it until I saw the video footage.

It will be a good one to get her started.
