They fought for 35 mins this afternoon. Kate finally went out and got within 15 feet of them and threw rocks to break it up. I was in the shower so it was up to her to protect us.

The boys are back this morning but they're on good behavior. Our turkey hunters took the day off today for work.....bad timing for sure!

Seems pretty crazy that at this time of the year, those gobblers are in a bachelor group. When they were rumbling yesterday there were 4 hens in the group. These 3 gobblers this morning were by themselves but there was a hen yakking her head off about 200 yards down the hill from them. They were on a bee-line towards her. Our hunters said there are at least 5 gobblers on our hill. I know we've seen at the very least two each and every day.

Those are such clear and crisp pictures. What camera are you shooting them with? The iridescence in their feathers is beautiful.

Those are such clear and crisp pictures. What camera are you shooting them with? The iridescence in their feathers is beautiful. A friend keeps telling me I should get a $22,000 outfit like he has. His tripod costs more than both of our cameras put together. Reason that I don't do that is that we don't go bird chasing. Most everything we shoot is on our property or, like eagles and sandhill cranes, very close by. The second reason is that I just don't see the need for it. We're not in business and we don't even embed a signature in our pictures to keep people from copying and using them. The best reason is that it is waaaaay too much money. Katie just took the below pictures a short while ago, looking through a double pane window,

Believe me, you DO NOT need a $22,000 outfit!
