Went to a RGS banquet tonight.
Cornusracemosa did a nice presentation about a couple habitat projects done with help from RGS, Woodcock Limited, QDMA, PGC, etc.
He also talked about various habitat manipulations the PGC does to encourage woodcock habitat.
Good stuff!
And he even included a slide with Galthatfishes and a little girl planting aspen trees near Pine Grove, PA

BTW, in addition to Corny being there, Grouse28, and Rober were also there.
A nice evening of fundraising for grouse!

Interesting. I have noticed rubus seems to grow up in areas where the soil has been disturbed. Are there any other ways to promote its establishment?

Ok Dutch, I guess I don't count as being there. Well, had you been a member here, I'd have mentioned you. LOL I did notice that 10% of our local Izaak Walton League membership was there. Tcaddis, looking forward to hunting with you and your brother this fall. Thank you for offering your donated hunt at the banquet!

BTW, post up info on that shoot your RGS chapter is having in March.
JohnS said he'd be there, and I'm sure grouse28 and rober will be there.

It is really neat when we set the course up. We set up the station and stand back and look to see it is safe to shoot. Then we all stand back and launch a few birds and if they are impossible to hit, it is a perfect station ;D
It really is a challenge, but it is alot of fun. I shot with John S and his buddy last year and we had a good time.

I guess my brother won't be there, he has a Woodcock Limited meeting that day. It was fun to watch when I did go with him a couple years ago.

And he even included a slide with Galthatfishes and a little girl planting aspen trees near Pine Grove, PA Get your digging iron and gloves ready. Looks like we are going back into that area in late April or early May to replant the area. I just talked to Corny today. He wants to add some Locust to the area. When more info becomes available, I will post it.
