Mugs, Ms. Doris, and I went bird hunting this afternoon at Royal United. Richard put out eight chukars and a couple of quail for Mugs to find. He found them. I shot better than I usually do. We got 5 of the eight chukars and two quail after I missed the first three chukars. Mugs is 12 years old now. I wonder how much longer he will be able to do this, but I'm going to enjoy it while we can. Ms. Doris does not shoot, but loves to watch Mugs work. There is another batch of chukar/rice soup in the near future.

Does he put out Mother Chukars ? Those Mother Chukars are fast. Hard to hit them Mother Chukars sometimes.

I believe it. I ask for the Father Chukars when I go. Guy asked me why. Said them Mother Chukars you got are too fast for my shootin' ability.

When I used to hunt chukars, if you missed or wounded them and they got to the woods, they would literally about bury themselves under stuff. Those things are cagey birds, and pen raised to boot.
I'd plant some of those things in switchgrass, and the dog would go in point and you'd swear they ran off. Nope, no just buried
