Need the whole shell or half's in good shape. Don't care about the meat, using the shells for some craft projects. Will trade for something you will like. Grant

Bad time of year to try and find some viable walnuts in PA. If you still need them next year, ask in late summer, They're still on trees August or so, and can be gathered by the bushel. Critter clean them up quickly once they fall. Like most nuts.

You might try taken country rides late summer and early fall. If you can identify the bare trees at this time of year, driving the back country roads will be a good way to spot them. Then find the property owner and ask if you can get the nuts when they're out and dropping. If you locate a good number of trees and get permission now, and call when you're going to pick; you can find them. Besides my back yard, I have several property owners who allow me to pick nuts.! sold the tree to a lumber guy. Check laws of municipality on the legality of picking off the road and the berms.
