many people have 401K plans and own stocks thru them. A rising stock market does give people confidence. Confident people are more likely to spend money, creating demand for products. Also, with interest rates so low, seniors, get little in the way of interest income. many of them are almost forced into the stock market and dividend paying stocks, to maintain their living standards. Easing, if done right, can be good. It can stimulate, and keep things from going south. In the past, our government has spent well more than it took in. All of that was also stimulative. It can be good, in moderation, but we do reach a point where the point of balance within our economic system is lost. Much of our economy for the past 12 years has depended on the government stimulating by spending more than it took in. Yet, no one, or few cared. I began caring when Ronald Reagan doubled our national debt during his tenure, and it has worried me ever since.

Dutch wrote "Why, when discussing politics, must words like "Marxist in Chief" be used?"
If you really want to know, I'll give you an answer.

Bob...I think whut Dutch was referring to if we all start slandering with name calling it tends to take much away from a debate platform. Many view as a sign of weakness/defeat(me included) when one must resort to namecalling. I tend to agree & much more prefer to address issues, facts etc. on a friendly basis. I think it brings more folks constructively into a discussion vs turn them away. Just my opine...

Cost me $140 to go to camp this weekend, which included to much running around up there.
Honestly, how many guys will go north for a day of hunting any more? Not worth it.

Hard to believe but true, just put 20 gallons of gas in my truck at Sheetz for $2.58! $3.86/gallon - $3.70/gal Weis gas points - $.03/gal Sheetz loyalty points = $0.129/gal.
Wish I could always do that but probably a once in a lifetime deal. The Mrs. and I got our flu shots and she also got a shingles shot at Weis pharmacy and we got a whole bunch of extra gas points.

No plan huh? Obama blocked the Keystone pipeline. Obama stopped any new drilling permits. Obama sent billions of dollars to Brazil so they could do deep water drilling and said the US will be one of their best customers. Obama's EPA has put choking restrictions on any new refineries in order for them not to be built. The new restrictions on existing refineries is designed to shut them down. On the electric front there are about 500 coal fired electric plants that are providing over half the USA's electric. Obama's EPA new regulations is causing the shut down of 25% of those coal fired electric plants over the next couple of years. The result will be very high electric rates and probably rationing. Remember "Under my energy plan, prices will necessarily skyrocket?" Get your head out of the sand my friends, there is a plan and it's not good for the USA.

Many coal fired plants will be switching over to home made Natural Gas.
