Does all this rain and fields being flooded hurt the rabbit population ?
Before the heavy rains we had i was seeing baby rabbits a lot now i see none ? As far as that goes no adult ones either !

I don't know, willy, but I have never seen so many rabbits as I am seeing this year. Perhaps the breeding cycle is between high points in your area?

This year we have Great Horned Owl's nesting behind the house. Two parents and 3 offspring. In the past 13 years of living here we would normally have two dozen rabbits running around. Today, I can't find one rabbit. There was a nest in my neighbors yard about a week ago. Saw the momma and three or so young 'un's. Haven't seen 'em since.

Still seeing some when running beagles and on my walks but still wearing my Lacrosse burleys and still sloshing which is unusual for August/September here. Still mowing at least once a week and the grass is still green. Getting behind on brush hogging my paths and trimming back too hot muggy and just plain wet. Keeping the miles of paths open from bushes filling in the void is drudgery work. I could widen the paths more with the brush hog but like to keep most of them at five foot to cut down on predation. So the drudgery remains.
Don't have to carry water for the dogs tho!
Speaking of Lacrosse, Midway has a sale now,,,ordered a new pair for me and a pair for my running partner Twenty off and free shipping. I go thru a pair about every two years. I do like to give them a rest this time of year but that is not the case this summer.
