Just got back from a week of fishing & crabbin with my 75 year old young fishin buddy!! No gals on this trip!! Had a great time catching well over 100 crabs and some really quality summer flounder. Many throwback male & female crabs which looks promising for the future fishery. Still had tons though to wash down with a few cold ones. Couple 3-4lb nice flounder caught one day.

I do enjoy eating the skin as long if it's a lil crispy...the Mrs not so much so. Flounder skin is just a tad thicker than trout which is still paper thin. Catfish...skin is way too thick to eat.

Some I stuff with crab meat and some are just filleted & skinned(for the Mrs ). Hard to screw fresh flounder up. It also freezes well since it's a nonoily fish unlike tuna etc. For Father's Day has a coupla ME lobster tails & truthfully....I like flounder better.

Actually, when I was a kid and spent my summer up on my Grandparents farm we would go fishing at the Pymatuming Dam. On great days I would catch a pile of BIG bluegill. Nothing tastier than fried bluegill.....dip in egg....roll in flour......YUM!!! (Yes....skin 'n all)

Amen Dave & Fleroo!! Bluegill & crappie are some of my favorite freshwater fish on the plate!! Walleye is number one but fresh panfish are a close second especially if caught through the ice.

They beached eight. Lost a few. He said they're running a bit bigger this year; about five feet. I'll be going down the first week of July and to say I'm looking forward to it would be an understatement! Muab
