Set up in almost the same spot as the opener and had two birds hammering from the roost about 200 yards out on a point. At fly down, the woods fell silent. A few soft yelps every now and then and two gobblers began to work their way in silently. I saw them coming at about 150 yards before they dropped down into a small creek bottom. Took them 40 minutes but they popped up into bow range and I hit the lead one at 22 yards with the Slick Trick expandable. When the arrowed bird began his death flop, the other gobbler began stomping on him good until I crawled out of the blind. It has been a great opening week. A 2 year old with 3/4 inch spurs but a heck of a thick brush for a beard. Kinda sad that it is over... Attachment Deleted

Congrats Gene! Pretty nice this year in SWPA with the late Spring. You don't have to take a weed whacker out to clear out a shooting lane the 1st week of the season.

The late spring is certainly welcome in this corner of the state as far as the turkey hunting goes. The whole season should be pretty good, instead of just the first two weeks.
