I'm in need of a new hunting jacket. My brother bought one of the Milwaukee electric heated one a few years ago. I know it's not bulky and am thinking of getting one to cut down on the bulk when archery hunting.

I'm not into high fashion hunting wear.Howewer, last year I bought a Sitka Fanatic coat.I got a good deal on it and I'm telling you,it's the real deal. It's lightweight, extremley warm and extremely well thought out.The heated jackets are nice as well. They come with a free box of tampons.

I don't get it. Wait. Never mind. I get it. SCENT DISPENSERS... DUH ! sprinkle them with estrus, and hang them around the stand. Geez, I'm so dumb.

I coul dnt take the cold anymore so at 9 I got out the tree . Just took the top part of my climber off the tree when I scared the buck that was headed right for me. So thought if I got one of the heated coats that it would help.

The older I get,the less I can tolerate the cold.I bought one of those fanatics last year.I hunted days into the low 20's and only war a Cabelas heavyweight base layer underneath. They have a nice handwarmer pocket in the front that way you can wear thin gloves and just drop a handwarmer in it.they retail for about $400 but you can find better deals when the time is right.I think I paid $329.I thought it was money well spent.

Is it waterproof? The last day of archery was 12 degrees.

They claim it's water resistant but I never used it in the rain..I sat all day the last day of Archery and never got cold with just a base layer underneath. You couldn't walk around with it on without overheating.I sat for a couple of hours the sat before new years when it was zero and never got cold, except for my feet. It's also nice and light.

Hard to beat the IWOM XT for warmth, water resistance, and wind resistance. Rolls up tight and you can carry it around your waist to the stand with light clothes on. Once in the stand, put it on and you are good to go in the worst conditions. It isn't cheap, though.

Those sound really good for where I hunt, people look at me when tgey see me walking in the rifle season in a tee shirt. My archery tree is 2.5 miles from my truck so I am a sweated pig by the time I get there.

Lemme see.....about 8 years ago, because I can't "move" or walk around in order to warm myself up, I purchased one of these Gerbings heated vest for about the $150 sale price they have now. I wear this vest under my coat\jacket (Heavy coat when very cold out....or lighter weight jacket when it's not so cold). Those rechargeable 7-V batteries work very well and when set on #2 (total of 4 settings) a battery will last almost a full day when new, but after a few years, about half a day. I just purchased a second battery and take it with me. The batteries are small. I also....at the same time....purchased their heated socks. Very nice products. After 8 years of constant wear from fall to February, these products are still working like the day I purchased them. I realize the initial cost is what may be considered high......but after 8 hard years and they still work speaks volume's. FIWI

Yinz oughta try a deer hunt in Manitoba or Saskatchewan in late November. Sit all day in a stand with temps below zero and then tell me about how you withstand the third degree of cold. 1. Cold. 2. Damned cold. 3. f#$Li^g cold.
