Just back from Key Largo, Fl. Fished from a 21 foot rental boat for snappers, grouper, etc. One day a large 12 foot hammerhead shark over 1/2 the boat length kept circling the boat. Then had another 10 foot (looked like a bull shark} kept coming around and ate a fish the wife was catching. Made me feel uneasy, did not want to reach into the water.

Good for you. I'd love to be fishing someplace warm right now.

Watched a movie the other week about the sinking of the USS Indianapolis during WW2. SO many men were lost to sharks.
It would be creepy to be in a small boat with them circling.

I can,t even imagine the terror those brave men endured.Between enemy Subs,Kami-Kazi,s,etc.and still survive and have to be terrorized by an animal.

On a Tarpon trip off Sanibel we caught 1 tarpon and 5 sharks. All were released.Near the end of the trip my son-in-law hooked a hammer head that headed for Mexico. His friend, the captain, was on the upper wheel and harrassing him to "Control your fish".The shark spooled the reel and snapped the 100 lb test line. The captain had a good view and said there was no way he was going to catch that one.

Four days in the water before they were discovered. They had just got done unloading the 2 atom bombs a few days before. Then were torpedoed with no escort. Mayday was ignored.
