Congrats, mutt.
As for KIAs, young couple that used to live next door, had a new KIA Sportage SUV several years ago.
Nothing but trouble, one trip after another to the dealer. Quit on her several times while she had the kids in it, once right in the middle of a four lane highway. Barely out of warranty and it died again. The dealer refused to help so they parked it out back, stopped paying for it and let the repo man come get it. Not the best move credit-wise, but they figured it wasn't worth paying for, since it didn't run and they'd already dumped hundreds on it for repairs, by then?
One BIL has a new KIA SUV. So far, so good. HE claims they've made great strides in quality. Guess he'll find out?

From what I understand, KIA has a 100-K warranty. That's the only thing that "saved" their US market. OTOH.....even with a vehicle under warranty, three or four trips per year to a dealer to fix what's broken can be a royal PITA. Especially if you don't get a loner car.
