What Pa. animal is the toughest to mount and get right ? Far as animals....bobcats & yotes are tuff to capture natural look plus have thinner skins than deer or bear. A fish(skin mount) is the most difficult of all due to the art work required plus preservation.

Not guaranteed to get a Woodcock back from the taxi. Why ? They tend to replace them with bats or somethin ?

In Florida and probably everywhere, plastic or fiberglass replicas to represent the species and size that were actually caught.Tarpon are caught, weighed, measured and released in tournaments.Used to be a $50 charge to kill one.I fought a 6 footer to the boat years ago off Sanibel island.A friend of my son-in-law took us out.It jumped 5 times and when I got it to the boat the captain used pliers to pull one scale off the side before release. He said its the poor man's trophy. The size of the scale is a measure of the size of the tarpon. He estimated it at 130 lbs.I think pulling scales has been banned now.It was stand up fighting in 90 degree heat. The captain had frozen gallons of water and poured the melt water on the hot reel and me.I'll never forget it.
