I'll follow the gist of this thread's title.....I was watching CBS news (fair and balanced always....never an agenda *coffeespit* ) and they gave a report on the newest type of "golf cart" or "golf vehicle" that has been introduced, and it appears is catching on very well in all age groups in Florida (God's waiting room). Here's the video:
Of course, now....I use this to "promote", state my "opinion", or "wine", some call it "whine" about the PGC and the fact that they are stuck in the 1910's concerning a plethora of matters. My matter being they refuse to look at the current state of technology regarding "Disabled access vehicles" that would allow much greater access to disabled hunters, and allow it safely, without "made up fear stories".
So, look at this new golf "transport" individual vehicle. Not only is it easier on the golf course, but it speeds up the game for the foursome by allowing each individual to go directly to their ball, the transport is lightweight and does not harm the million dollar course grass's, and as I watched the CBS report, they had guys in their 80's using them with no trouble at all.
So....really....is the PGC really worried about the disabled having "accidents" with "Disabled access vehicles" on public properties? Really? Anymore than they are "worried" about healthy individuals having "accidents" with tree stands and tree climbers? Shut up and give me a break.

Yeah, you would be standing there using the facility and she would walk by and go into a booth. No Problem. I was in the mens room at the Haneda airport in Tokyo, Japan about 1984. The airport is always packed. They have about 20 urinals in the men's room and there was a line at each. A little old Japanese lady was the cleaning attendant. She was dutifully reaching around in front of the men at the urinals brushing the urinals.. .

Me and two other guys got chased out of a men's room in Hong Kong one time for a alcohol induced competition we had in the men's room called the "squirt derby".....didn't realize the, (looked like), 120 year old cleaning gal sitting in the corner was awake. She really could handle a broom though!!!

Or......maybe she saw the package and realized nobody else had a Mack.....just a Prius. So she chased after him until he caught her.

Dave do you think the disabled should be allowed use motorized vehicles to travel anywhere there choose on public hunting grounds? Maybe they already do?

Dave do you think the disabled should be allowed use motorized vehicles to travel anywhere there choose on public hunting grounds? Maybe they already do? That falls under the definition of "How open can we make a question, so the answer will qualify as FAIL when answered." Red, did you stay up for a few days thinking really, really hard to develop this question?

You really believe that? I don't know what the rules are governing vehicles for the handicapped. One thing we have learned from past exceptions to regulations is that there are many who will take advantage them.
There is no "fail" in answering the question. Say what you believe. Who cares weather many or few agree?

One thing we have learned from past exceptions to regulations is that there are many who will take advantage them. There is no "fail" in answering the question. Say what you believe. Who cares weather many or few agree? I don't think a DI individual should be permitted to take his vehicle anywhere he chooses. Why? Because under that "concept" you will have some of these guys rolling 'em down 50-degree hills, busting thru corn fields (corn planted on PGC land) or finding any other way to be a "jerk" or "express his\her" rights as a DI individual. OTOH, I do believe that allowing a DI individual access to gas well roads, dirt roads that are usually off limits to "normal traffic" and logging roads should be permitted. Of course, some element of common sense must come into play. For example....this morning I was out with a hunting buddy on private property and we were turkey hunting. Well, there are several gas well roads as well as other cut paths on this land that my cart can easily travers. However, because of the storms we have had over the last month or so, trees have been knocked down and are blocking some of these paths or logging roads. Obviously, I cannot move or cut the trees out of my way. So, I realize that I must take another road and there are spots on this place that I can't hunt today. And some of these spots are "prime" for turkey. Hey.....that's how it goes. I'm not going to whine about it, nor am I going to call the landowner about it, nor am I going to bring someone out with my own chainsaw. The landowner may get to it at some point. I'm just happy to be out. So, those who have access need to realize these types of things will happen. Life happens. Stuff happens. Adjust. Roll with the flow. You can't have it all.....sometimes, just accept a small piece.

Sounds like pretty much what I think. I do think it also opens things up for those who will try to get bogus permits. Exceptions for some has brought out some scum in the past.........And good luck with "some element of common sense".

Researchers have now concluded that Lyme disease can be sexually transmitted.

Interesting, Glenn. Fortunately I am at that age---- Your post reminded me of something. Some years ago, I got the three injections of Lymerix (sp), the vaccine that Smith Kline put out to prevent Lyme disease. The fact that I had the series of shots may be why I have never gotten Lyme disease, and perhaps why ticks seldom attach to me. The vaccine was effective, but was taken off the market. the story about why and how is at this link: www.historyofvaccines.org/content/articles/history-lyme-disease-vaccine

First, we kill all the lawyers. Next, we release the fleas of a thousand camels in the offices of every major media outlet.
