Well, great pics, nonetheless. They might still take off. Cool temps coming up help most of these crops.

Yes. Hopefully in a couple of weeks the kids can remove some of the deer browsing pressure as well.

LOL.
Pretty sure my plots got some rain the other day, by the looks of the radar.

Never mind the boykini, put that wool outfit on and you'll weigh 879 Lbs after this rain

We got plenty of rain today for sure. It will help it, but getting too late now for it to reach it's full potential.

Just a thought. I've shied away from these brassica blends from various companies and Whitetail clover. Your money would be better spent on Purple Top Clover and Ladino Clover. Way cheaper and just as effective. I planted my 2 acre plot heavy with 6 oz. of turnip seed and 2lbs of clover seed. The recent rains have made them lush. The turnips will be the size of cantaloupes shortly and the deer will eat the tops as soon as we have a frost. They will dig the turnips all winter, and the clover will come in thick in the spring. I also through in some oats just to mix it up a bit. Hope yours thickens up a bit after this rain.

I know you have had good luck with them but I was looking for something they would hit earlier in the year. I was going to plant winter rye but at the last moment I bought this stuff to try. I honestly think the deer are keeping it trimmed down more this year. Here is a pic of my dads plot in Greene county that is a similar mix and was put in a week earlier but he had less rain than mine did. He put up a fence though. Can you tell? Lol. He only fenced part of it. Going to take down the fence Friday.

Your dad's enclosure tells an incredible tale. That's amazing. Without it, he'd surely consider his planting a failed attempt

Food plot update is they pretty much look the same that they did a couple weeks ago. The deer aren't hitting them much in the daylight. We have hunted the gasline plot a few times and never had a deer feed in it. The other plot we hunted one time and the youngest daughter hit a small buck in the shoulder blade and didn't get it. We have been finding the deer in the acorns.
