How's your longbow skills been developing? UBP 5C hunt is coming up, I'll buy your mandatory UBP membership if you come to the hunt with that longbow this year. I love shooting the thing. Was flinging arrows early Sunday before the rain hit. Gonna have to get some new feathers as mine are about worn out. You guys got a good thing going on over there for sure. Rest assured, the longbow will sit in some more stands with me this fall. I'll make you some wild Turkey ones if ya want. Right or left wing? I'm sitting on a ton of um!

Left it is! Should I make you a set? If you are looking for something to do, I will need some new feathers. We can maybe get together in Hopewell at some point whenever they are done. Might be sacrilegious to put them on a carbon shaft, though.

I'll be making a dozen arrows in the near future. I'll make you some feathers while I'm making mine.

I normally shoot them after I break all my woodies! They're my in between arrows, arrows. I've never taken a deer with one using my longbow, only Douglas Fir has filled the freezer. Dutch your buddy RC has been known to as well. LOL

Crossbows ARE here to stay! Why can't people just hunt with his/her weapon of choice in the season of their choice without the bickering! The UBP did not support the crossbow inclusion & that is their right as an organization to oppose issues their membership wants them to! But it is time for some to bury the hatchet. Crossbows are legal in the PA Archery season. Some people just need to deal with that! Many, many bridges were burned during the Crossbow Wars here in Pennsylvania. Isn't it time to move on? Since inclusion I have encountered VERY little opposition to crossbows both at local clubs & in the woods. The majority of the anti-crossbow sediment I hear are by a very vocal minority on internet forums. I'm just reaching out & saying isn't it time all hunters join together and enjoy the Pennsylvania woods & hunting seasons as fellow hunters regardless of their choice of weapon?

Are you saying that joining a sporting org is a waste of money? If they are doing good for the sport like conservation or help kids out then they are good. If they just take your money so you can say you belong to this group and nothing else then they are a waste of money. IMO, FWIW. even the groups I disagree with use the money for their causes; be it driving to the capitol, making phone calls, mailings or booth space. Trust me. Running an organization is not cheap, regardless of the cause.

On another forum the PCF is still listed are a relevant organization. I also read in the past month that a fellow hunter just joined this organization. (You cannot believe all you read!!) Bottom line is this organization or someone connected with the organization owes it to the sportsman of PA to step up and tell us exactly what the status of this organization is! I do not think that is asking too much!

As you can see from this thread this is some debate as to whether there "really" is a PA Crossbow Federation now in existence or not!

You'll always have a certain number of bitter people no matter what. However,as of late,I hear or read about very little opposition.

Doug, the bridges were burnt completely, and probably will never be rebuilt.
It was a loss for sportsman.

That may be the case with some people but overall,I see very little bickering.I never staunchly opposed full crossbow exclusion but had my reservations.Today,I could care less and I know many people just like that.I know quite a few people that rabidly opposed crossbows and today it's more or less a non issue. They honestly aren't my thing but I look down on nobody who chooses to use one.

No bridges burned here. Didn't like crossbows for a long time, but after full inclusion I realized they don't effect me at all or the way I hunt. Any bridges I may have burned have been re-built for quite awhile now. Heck, I wouldn't even rule out shooting one, once I can't pull my longbow back. I got older and wiser, I don't really even trophy hunt anymore, it was to much like work.

I mean within sportsman's groups and how they work together, or now, don't.
