My youngest Martina, got her first groundhog tonight. She shot one a couple of weeks ago with the crossbow, but it made it back into the hole. This is the first which she could get her picture with.

Crop damage on the brassicas, I see. LOL
Ok, what brand and model is the gun? Cailber?
How long was the shot?
Come on, we need details!
Love kids getting out there. Just great stuff.

Savage Model 93 .17HMR, 175 yards. Yes it was definitely crop damage. LOL. She missed one at 150 yards, but this one made the mistake to standup and look around. He still had a brassica leaf in his mouth.

Are you shooting 17 or 20 gr bullets, I can't seem to get that sort of range out of mine, of course it could just be my old eyes.

Congrat's to the young Lady.
Hunting hogs is a great way to start out our Youth, lots of time to chat up safety and identifying wildlife and if you miss just wait a little while and another one will pop up.
"Quality family time" at it's best.

Started my Granddaughter out hunting hogs when she was 9, I have a 22-250 savage bull barrel with bi pods, a spotting scope on a tripod. My Lil Gal would do the spotting, I would check out her find, hand her a round of ammo and watch the fun.
It's a great time to teach zones of fire, judging distance etc.
At times we would stay till about dark and she could spot the deer as they came out to feed. It was a real joy to watch her get excited when a buck came out.
Your little one looks like she has the fever for sure
