I looked up the .308 load in a recent Handloader magazine. The guy was using a max load of IMR-3031 of 44gr. with a 150gr. bullet. This was a max load so you should should start at 10% less.

I think 3031 would be an excellent powder for the 308.

Talk about shortages .....I called Hogden powder yesterday and the very nice lady told me there is no shortage of anything ........the problem is hoarding and if it stopped tomorrow it would take 6 months to restock the pipeline Same thing happened under Clinton. There was lots of hoarding going on back then, but not near like today. It really is a shame.

Buy a pound of Varget Dutch.3031 will work and so will 4064 but Varget will work better.

Buy a pound of Varget Dutch.3031 will work and so will 4064 but Varget will work better. Doug, you go on any site these days, and so much is sold out. I just looked at 2 sites, no Varget. I have a decent amount of powder, that isn't much of a problem, yet.
