Yep, use it a lot more then I should. Also not naive and know my kids use it when I'm not around like I used too. It's rare to hear me ever use that word. And because of that I don't hear my adult son say it either. We set the example You may be right or he just doesn't use it when he's around you. Typically the strict parents leas to kids doing it when out of earshot. Not saying this is the case with your son.

You didn't live thru it, if you had, you'd know how much better today is. Oh, and I forgot the recession after the 1973 oil shock. The reason I compare the past with today is because I and other guys on here lived it, and appreciate the better times of today. Ridiculous to say today is bad. Gas and inflation say that to the people with empty cuboards and putting 5 dollars in their gas tanks at a time. I look at the other pumps everytime gas goes up and giggle when I see the 5's and 8's. Take a look around next time you fill up I bet there is one there. I'm sorry, but there have always been people with empty cupboards. Wife and I delivered food for the food bank in Lititz during Trump's years. I drove to camp last night, I was shocked how full the restaurants were. Selinsgrove was PACKED. And you tell me things are bad? Our store on Saturday was absolutely nuts. Parking lot was full. Our rental business was balls to the wall I could barely keep up, actually, we couldn't. And things are bad??

Voters views on the economy are not good and its a bipartisan opinion. Isn't that the unwritten rule as long as you have bipartisanship it makes it factual?

And things are bad?? Been noticing that over this way as well. A week ago I went to the Bass Pro store by the Eastwood Mall in Niles OH. Busiest I've seen that area in 5-6 yrs. People weren't just looking, checkouts were pretty busy. Was out this past Saturday, same thing locally. Yes, there is inflation, but people still seem to have the money to spend.

I guess if you just keep reading stuff that tells you things are bad, pretty soon you start believing things are bad.
My grandfather brought 9 kids thru the Great Depression, at times 25% unemployment, but today is bad?
I'm not allowed to go back in my own history, which includes interest rates in the upper teens and 11% unemployment, to compare how "bad" things are today.
Recessions and bad times teach younger people lessons most of the older people learned thru the years. If they are complaining now, we have grown far too soft.

No different then listening to stuff about the Orange man and creating a hysteria over it. That's not being positive either. That's looking in the past to me and I'm worried about the next 4 years. 21% think the economy is in good condition. That's no fluke but if you said the bass pro shop was full then the economy MUST be good.

I have a gas card that I haven't used in a long while. I just received a notice the interest is going to 35%.

I have a gas card that I haven't used in a long while. I just received a notice the interest is going to 35%. And when people start to see the penalty for carrying a balance, they will start to pay off those cards each month. A lesson learned. The Great Recession taught those caught up in the real estate deals not to repeat those mistakes.

I have a gas card that I haven't used in a long while. I just received a notice the interest is going to 35%. Since when did credit cards start charging interest? I've had several credit cards for over 40 years now and have never been charged any interest on virtually thousands of purchases. I do know that some(not mine) charge an annual fee.

They've always charged interest if the balance is carried over. It getting more expensive. Seems like I read somewhere that Home Depot was now well over 30%. Store cards were always higher. The 6 month no interest deals make money because 25% of borrowers don't pay off the balances within the 6 months according the news feed. That is enough to make a profit on the offers. Ouch to those who fail.

I have never paid interest on a credit card. I use them for convenience. It does make it easy to track the spending we do each month. I doubt most people even consider the little things that they do every day that eat up their money.

Well, my last mortgage was paid off in 1998. My last car loan was in 2000, and I paid that off in 6 months. I have avoided debt all thru life, and now I'm supposed to go in debt to get a better credit rating? 😂

I have 2 GMAC loans(.99% & 1.99%) on a PU & car bought in the last 2 years. My FICO score is 836. I know a high score really helps on securing the best vehicle loans. My kids who got mortgages in the last 5-10 years said the same when shopping for home loans. I analyzed the GMAC direct rebate vs financing & financing saved a lot more. Also my kids told me that their above average FICO scores really helped when securing the best insurance rates. I haven't checked that out yet.

Yes you have to be in debt to have good credit Yep!! What really bumped my FICO up were the Parents PLUS college loans I carried for many years helping the kiddos out.

Anybody that doesn’t pay off a CC every mouth, shouldn’t even have one. I have two, one that’s seldom used, the other one I also get rewards @ 1.5% on all charges. It’s paid off in full every month. The 1.5% is deducted from my charges.
