When I was in my teens, I put a Harris bipod on my rifle. Shot a doe with that thing.
Just went and rooted out just shooting stick. Plaastic thing, doesn't weigh much, gonna try it at the range today

Instead of a front sandbag, I might also try a benchrest bipod today, just for the heck of it

Once a load has been settled on, only use a Harris for the front rest and a rear bag from the bench, for any rifle that a Harris can be used on. It's how they get used in the field, it's how I want to know how they'll shoot that way.
Lever guns, use a Caldwell front rest and rear bab. But they still get a few rounds fired offhand. I've had the same Protektor leather bag for the past 40 years. Mostly stays in the cab of the truck.

Promos trigger stick is what I use. Can automatically adjust height of stick.

Must say, my son in law loves shooting an AR. Had fun with my daughter and him today

I can go 300 yards on big game without a rest. I've connected at 250 and 300 yards offhand.
