I should probably go back to that, but the mix I've been using has done very well, and right now, I just plain forget the name of it. LOL

I planted that mix before, no complaints. In fact, I've never planted any brassica mix that didn't grow well if mother nature cooperated. I've been getting all my small seed from Welters the last few years, one stop shopping. I need to frost seed some clover so I will have to order soon. I noticed places the deer were digging through the snow to get at what everyone always called orchard grass but I suspect is some sort of ryegrass in the reclaimed strip mines. Yet they are ignoring the rye plantings nearby. Odd.

I didn't plant that grass, whatever it is. I'm guessing it was part of whatever mix the mines planted when they reclaimed it. The deer do like it some for whatever reason.
The clover is just straight Ladino, nothing fancy.

Ok, I'm assuming you were using the Jumbo Ladino from Welters?

No, just regular Ladino. I may get something different this time just for kicks though.

Ok, I didn't see regular Ladino on their list. Maybe I missed it.

This field was new last fall and planted in rye which we let grow up and then mowed which has been my SAP. We sprayed and then planted brassicas on 7/20 and as you can see from the pic we have a nice crop of rye coming up. The brassicas are doing ok as well but I fear the rye may outgrow them. I couldn't have planted rye much better. Close up of the brassicas growing with the rye.

Snapped a pic while mowing on Saturday. Clover planted on the right planted last fall and brassicas planted two weeks ago on the right. I frost seeded the clover in the spring too and it came in real nice.

Brassica plot with a lot of rye leftover from last year in it. Chased 3 does out of here Saturday night so they must be enjoying it.

Is that an Allis Chalmers? You have a good eye, it's a 170. Also have a D15 I think, can't remember which one exactly but pretty sure it's a D15. I like the 170 better, engine runs strong.

My brassicas were planted about a month ago and are about 4 inches tall. In the next 2 weeks they should come on very strong. This is the latest I have ever planted them, and I think the timing was just right.
