Even though it was cloudy the sun peeked thru often enough for me and the Mrs. to watch in from the deck for over an hour. What an amazing event to watch!!

Neat pics!! My phone only pick-up sun blaze. Were you taking through filter? No. I just kept clicking and when the cloud cover was just right it got the image.

That's likely why as we had almost zero cloud cover.

My wife and I watched it from camp in Warren county. The clouds came and went while we watched which actually made it better in my opinion- except that, just when there was the tiniest sliver of the sun showing, clouds blocked the few seconds of totality. It was dark enough that our motion sensor lights came on when we moved. It was a pretty cool experience. Many of the camps in the area were full on Sunday evening and traffic headed south was really busy on our way home.
I could not get any pics showing the shadow to come out for me.

Returned from Erie a few hours ago. What an amazing experience. I am not a religious man but the experience felt religious. The clouds parted just in time for the event to begin and stayed away through totality. When the last sliver of light disappeared, the ring of fire came alive. Truly a once in a lifetime experience to experience a total eclipse and words cannot describe that moment in time. The temps dropped, the street lights came on and it went dark for 4 minutes. We were at Gannon University and they has large sun filters set up you could stand under and watch without glasses. Also had telescopes set up with filters on them as well.
What was cool was watching flocks of birds headed to roost as we got close to totality. Large flocks of turkey vultures and crows were headed to their roosting areas as they light faded When it went to darkness, the sea gulls were going ballistic.

I didn’t mention that the wasp were going bananas when it was just about at 90+ coverage. We were sitting on our deck & I ask if we got a wasp nest near the roof. Nope!! The wasp (IIRC) use the sun to figure out where they are. They were lost for a bit!!
This event makes you realize how tiny we are compared to the universe.

The sec'y at the CPA firm where I worked PT after retiring went to Erie like Ridge to view the eclipse. She echoed the same thing said it was breathtaking!! I really enjoyed viewing but would of been neat seeing the darkness event from total "totality"!! Ummm...."totality"....a word not too commonly heard outside of astronomical chatter! Was gonna put my eclipse glasses away till 2044 but read the very fine print & they have a 3 year expiration date....likely even before mine!!

I would highly encourage anyone to try to see a full eclipse in their lifetimes. I am glad I set aside the time and did the travel to do it. Really is a once in a lifetime expereince and we met people from all around the world. There were folks from Germany behind us in line at a coffee shop that came to Erie to see the eclipse.

The grands came over yesterday afternoon and of course they had to know if I saw the eclipse. They were able to have an educational class project as they all had glasses. I told Noah that I didn't have glasses so I couldn't watch the eclipse. He said "That's OK pappy, you can watch the eclipse anytime." And then he did this...
