I was trimming shooting lanes today, and asking myself why I don't have an electric chain saw

That little saw is just the ticket for that chore.

I was trimming shooting lanes today, and asking myself why I don't have an electric chain saw I bought one of the Dewalt 20v pole saws this summer. Impressed with its cutting performance. Has me thinking about getting the chainsaw as well.

FWIW, I purchased a new Dewalt string trimmer this past summer. I didn't need the battery....I use it very little, but I will say it's a very strong unit and would recommend it to anyone who needs a solid trimmer for around the house, camp, etc.

I was trimming shooting lanes today, and asking myself why I don't have an electric chain saw You're cheap? Actually, yes! Lol. I didn't realize I was going to be trimming as much as I did. I left the big chainsaw at camp and just used my handsaw. My shoulder did not thank me for that.

I recently bought a Milwaukee cordless sawzall and a 9" pruning blade. Awesome tool for trimming and NO moving chain to worry about. JM

Have had a DeWalt 14.4V drill for many years. Second one, as I burned out the first one at camp years ago, when the power was off for several days after severe storms and I wanted to finish some projects. So since I had two extended use batteries and a charger, just bought another one.
All of my other battery tools are now Ryobi, except for the 20V DeWalt chainsaw/hedge trimmer my son got me last Christmas.
One of her sons got me a Ryobi "Roto Zip" tool about ten years ago, to replace my old 120V jig saw. It has an 18V NiCad battery but will run on the lithium ion ones, which all my newer ones have. So far there's a driver drill, sawzall, metal shears and a grass trimmer. The trimmer will also run on 120V/AC and runs much faster when plugged into an extension cord, but the only place we do that, is on the bank behind camp. A 50' cord will reach 95% of the bank out back.
Would have to go look in the truck, but think I now have three chargers, four 2Ah batteries and three 5Ah ones? Ryobi 18V batteries are far less expensive than most other brands' batteries. The trimmer is five or six years old and gets used hard. Also have a 10" Ryobi 120V chop saw that's at least 12 yeares old and a portable 10" Ryobi table saw.

Only downside to the 20V DeWalt stuff, is the price of their batteries.
No problem with owning multiple brands of tools. I've always favored SKIL circular saws and have literally worn out several over the past 45 years. Still have two of them: Newer one for cutting wood; Old one that's about shot, for masonry blades.
Milwaukee hammer drill and 1/2" angle drills, both over 35 years old and still work fine. Granted I don't use them as frequently as I once did. Craftsman router that's probably 45 years old? Whatever works and didn't cost an arm and a leg, is in the stash.

Here's another "necessary toy" everyone needs incase your batteries go dead on your pole saw!! I've had a Hooyman for several years & love it. None of them dumb pull ropes etc to struggle with like on other manual saws.. My guess Dutch already has one.

I have the Hooyman, but used a Wicked pole saw the other week. The Wicked is hands down better. Longer blade, makes sawing easier

I have a bunch of 20v Dewalt tools and they're all high quality.I don't have the chainsaw but I do have a 60v Greenworks.I would compare it's capability to a cheaper Poulan gas saw.I don't cut as much wood as I used to but still have a Husky that runs good. For what I need these days,I usually just grab that geenworks when I need to cut something up.I had some trees come down on my pasture fence about a month ago and just used it.

I have a 10ft wicked pole saw and it's pretty good.I also have their hand saw and I think it's junk. The blade is two thick and it just doesn't cut.i BOUGHT A sILKY HAND SAW AND IT'S LIGHTER AND CUTS MUCH BETTER.
