It does suck when you have such anticipation for an event in your life only to find yourself ill when the time comes. First time I ever got to go to hunting Camp upstate my dad took me. It was Bear season and while it was one of thg he most memorable experiences in my life I absolutely had the worst sore throat I've ever had. I made the best of it I could.

When the Mrs told me Friday maybe I should stay home or delay leaving a day or so....I could see in her eyes she already knew it was a futile gesture!!lol Saturday(Late Elk Opener) I went out with guide but felt really bad. Sunday I started to feel slightly better but then back hunting Monday put me back under the weather again. Of course, Monday bagging my elk along with many after hunt Wild Turkey/American Honey toasts with guides/hunters helped to ease the pain!!

The PGC in appreciation of me completing a Post-Elk Hunt Survey sent me a nice embroidered patch and window sticker.

I couldn't believe the number of bulls I saw on my hunt. Seems they were all herded up. We saw the greatest number of cows in zone 2 in areas that weren't open for hunting. Mebbie they knew it was Late Cow Season!! lol

Good news for sure. Hopefully, cwd does not make it to the elk herd but I suspect that it will eventually. Have you eaten any of that elk yet? Elk is my favorite game meat by far.

Loggy should not eat any until tested by an "independent" source. So....send me 30-lbs or so and I'll test it. If I no longer post here......you know the outcome.

Dave I’m running a lil low on toilet paper these days. Maybe we can come to a mutually agreed to conversion ratio Elk Meat/Toilet Paper in a properly structured “Tax Free Exchange”?? 😁

Maybe we could be granted a ruling to avoid the "Like Kind Property" requirement!! Of course....the toilet paper must be "new property condition" ...any property tainting would disqualify the transaction!! Hey...sure great to communicate with someone on the same tax idiot level to help keep my insanity afloat!!

Have you eaten any of that cow elk yet? Elk is my favorite game meat. Yesterday was the first. Had some loin......UNBELIEVABLE!! So tender could cut with a fork. Far, far better than deer. Now is my favorite game meat too. My Mrs who is not a big venison fan said.... said why don't kill more elk!!

Anytime one of my customers smacks an elk with a vehicle,I always make them apply some elk meat to their deductible.

My friend Nick Osman at Brush Valley taxidermy called me & said my PA Elk Snow Camo Dipped Skull Mount and hide tanning work is done!! There was a major delay at their tanning house as result of C19. I met Nick on my Late Season Cow Hunt at Elk County Outfitters this past January. Nick was staying with my guide Lonnie Rensel who introduced me to Nick. Will post-up pics when I pick-up in a few weeks. Likely will combine trip with a camp visit.

Cool. Not many people have a Pa elk skull or hide to display.

Yeah...I can't wait to get it!! Nick had some of his skull dipping work at ECO's lodge which really sold me on going that route.
