After cocking this crossbow a few times over the past couple days, my shoulders are sore. I thought I was trying to get away from that with the crossbow? LOL

Every now & then i pull my back out of joint doing something stupid. Even with a rope cocker im pulling approx 100lbs. I bought one of those G-2 cranking devices from Excal...makes cocking a breeze!! I think most crossbows offer some type of cocking aid.

My TenPoint Titan has the integrated Acudraw cocking aid.. makes it real easy but it is slower than just pulling it back by hand. Plus the movement of the hand crank and the clicking ratchet make it unlikely you would ever get a second shot.

I used a crank yesterday for the first time. Works very well with none of the strain on shoulders or back.

I wish I could find a crank for my crossbow--guess I'll be in the market for a new set up for next season

Archers are inherently forgetful and dependant on "doohickies". Ah kin tell this, because they're always leaving things behind at our club's practice range. Used to be releases and tools, now it's "lawn mower starter ropes", which is what I call the cocking devices many xbow shooters use. Have already found two left hanging on the bow hooks at our range shooting line and the season hadn't even started yet.
