We have gotten this buck on cameras since 2014, when we think he was 2.5 years old. Looks like he survived another season. Pic was actually taken a month ago. He has a cut in his left ear, so, easy for us to recognize him. Last year, we had a pic of him in late January, then no more pics until August. Seems to be his pattern. We don't see him most of the year, then shows up.

He,s a smart critter. You have to admit it is nice to see him keep eluding yourself and others so he can continue living on at this point in his life.

It feels good when you see a nice buck this late in the year knowing he survived the hunting season. My Son took a walk yesterday on our property and saw a dandy 9 point we had seen early in the fall. He has survived. Hope he makes until next season. He will be on the list.

According to the Deer Forest blog, if they survive the season, they have a 90% chance of being there in the fall

One of the best seven points you may ever see. Obviously one to be proud of, and a mature buck for sure. Dave (every camp needs one) killed a seven point back in the 1980s near Fort Loudon. It won the big buck contest that year. Prize was a rifle. Dave still hunts with the rifle he won.

Note to self... "Dutch Xmas Wish List, 2018". New Trail Cam. It was my buddy's cam, and I enlarged the original pic so old farts on here could see it! Oh, and if you are buying me a trail cam, make it one of the new cellular cams, so, I can get pics day and night on my cell phone.

That's very cool having pics over a couple years. But, it does look like he is going downhill. I wonder if that buck is in the 8 year + class? Or, do you have two with a split ear?
